Martin Luther King Jr. is an iconic individual and an important part of U.S. and world history. He played a vital and significant role in the American Civil Rights Movement that forever changed the United States. Because of his impact, he is celebrated still to this day every year on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

In memory of an individual that so drastically shaped the hearts and minds of Americans and to celebrate his contributions, individuals around the country come together to make a difference in their communities through service. Whether it be through volunteering for a cause-related organization or spending time serving those in need, today people across the country follow the example of a great American leader and impact their communities through service.
