Spring break is the perfect time of year to lay by the beach, go on a trip, hang out with friends or volunteer at your local nonprofit organization or help someone in need. The days you have off during spring break are a great time to get plugged in to the community, make a difference in someone else's life and knock out some of your service hours for the year,

There are a number of elements that go into creating a successful service learning program in your school! It can be challenging to engage students and inspire them to get out into the community and serve those around them. 

One of the most challenging parts of heading off to college or university is paying for tuition. However, there are a number of scholarships, awards and grants for students to help offset and cover those costs, many of which are service focused.

Have you been diligent in completing service hours throughout your high school career? Make sure you use these hours to benefit your future!

Students! Community service is an important part of your high school career. Through service you have the opportunity to build character, make an impact in your community and develop a resume of volunteer experience you can utilize in your college applications.

Martin Luther King Jr. is an iconic individual and an important part of U.S. and world history. He played a vital and significant role in the American Civil Rights Movement that forever changed the United States. Because of his impact, he is celebrated still to this day every year on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Spring cleaning is not (and shouldn’t be) reserved for the household. Every now and then, things start to pile up at school, your extra-curricular activities, and perhaps your part-time job. Spring cleaning is about refocusing and recharging. It’s about getting rid of excess and bringing in new strategies to promote success.

Students are consumed by their busy schedules, and they find it difficult to fit in anything extra. As summer strolls around, students are ready for their long-awaited break. Lounging around the house sounds like a dream. But, after a week of lounging, the enchantment wears off. In fact, it might become boring. Before we continue, let us be clear: We know there is nothing wrong with lazy days by the pool, spending time with the friends and family, and catching up on leisurely reading…and our favorite tv shows.
